At Advanced Healthcare Education, we're committed to improving trauma patient outcomes by increasing nurse preparedness. Our educators, including 12 instructors, 6 course directors, and 2 ENA faculty, bring a high level of trauma expertise to our courses.
As trauma nurses ourselves, we're dedicated to improving trauma care. We want you to be successful, and we take the time to help you learn the foundations of caring for trauma patients.
Meet Our Team

Heather Fujawa
BSN, RN, CEN
Course Director
With 16 years of experience in emergency nursing, Heather Fujawa has cared for trauma patients in diverse settings, from rural critical access hospitals to Level 1 trauma centers.
With a passion for mentorship, she has taught life support and trauma classes for over a decade. She is dedicated to advancing nursing practice, improving patient outcomes, and fostering team development. She also serves as Michigan ENA faculty.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Heather enjoys gardening, traveling with her family and training her dogs.

Dianna Leonard
Business Administrator
As AHE's business administrator, Dianna brings outstanding organizational skills and exceptional customer service honed during her years of leadership experience. She is dedicated to providing seamless access and support to both our students and our staff. Outside of her professional life, Dianna relaxes by spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying nature.

Katherine Fredette
RN
Course Director
Katherine Fredette has dedicated her 24-year nursing career to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the professional development of healthcare teams. She has taught TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and ACLS classes for 12 years, equipping healthcare professionals with the critical skills and knowledge needed to excel in high-pressure situations.
As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, she brings compassion and expertise to sensitive and complex cases, supporting victims while ensuring thorough, trauma-informed care. Her expertise also extends to radiology nursing, where she combines her clinical skills with technical proficiency.
Katherine is also an integral member of the Course Director team at AHE. Her wealth of experience and passion for teaching make her a respected mentor and leader in the healthcare community, committed to fostering excellence in both patient care and professional development.

Sandy Boucher
RN, SANE
Course Director
Sandra Boucher is a highly skilled RN with nearly 20 years of experience in trauma and pediatric emergencies. Her career includes work in high-acuity settings like UMASS Hospital’s Level 1 trauma center as well as smaller community hospitals.
Sandy supports legal investigations with her expertise as a forensic nurse for the state of Massachusetts. In her role as a Course Director and instructor for TNCC and ENPC, she is a key member of the Advanced Healthcare Education team, helping healthcare professionals excel in emergency and trauma care.
In her free time, Sandy is a nature enthusiast who finds joy in hiking and kayaking, embracing her love for wildlife and the outdoors.

Tim Taylor
MSN, RN, EMT-P
Course Director
Tim is a seasoned healthcare professional with expertise in pediatric emergency and ICU nursing at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, as well as Level I adult emergency care. He is a certified paramedic and Critical Care Flight Nurse with PHI Air Medical. In addition to his clinical experience, Tim serves as an ENPC and TNCC instructor and course director. He holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Education, demonstrating his dedication to advancing healthcare education and clinical training.

Bryden Reed
BSN, RN, CCRN, CFRN
Instructor
Bryden is a dedicated critical care provider with experience in multiple adult ICU settings across the country. He is currently a critical care flight nurse in rural New Mexico . In addition to his clinical experience, Bryden serves as a TNCC instructor. Bryden has a passion for team building, education, and precepting clinicians in all aspects of healthcare. On his off time, Bryden enjoys the outdoors with his beautiful wife and two dogs.

Kristopher Thompson
MHA, BSN, RN, EMT-P, CCRN, CEN, CFRN, CPEN, FP-C, TCRN
Course Director
Kris Thompson is an expert in critical care and emergency paramedicine and nursing. He and his wife own Black Cloud Solutions, an EMS and ED consulting and education agency. Kris works as a flight nurse/paramedic on the nationwide float pool for a large air medical provider. He is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences, including Emergency Nursing and EMS World. Thompson is board-certified in critical care, emergency, pediatric emergency, flight, and trauma nursing, and as a flight paramedic. He has prior experience in EMS and nursing education, disaster relief, program management, and quality assurance activities. Thompson received his Master of Health Administration and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of Missouri.

Sarah Thompson
BSN, RN, EMT-B, CEN, TCRN
Instructor
Sarah has a wide breadth of healthcare experience ranging from rural to ultra-urban. She and her husband own Black Cloud Solutions, an EMS and ED consulting and education agency. Sarah started her career as a volunteer firefighter/EMT before becoming an RN at a Level 1 trauma center. She has 8 years of nursing experience at a variety of facilities across the US. With experience in emergency and trauma as well as ICU, she brings diversity of perspective and passion for education to the AHE team.

Lindsay Davis
BSN, RN, CEN, TCRN
Instructor
Lindsay is a board-certified emergency and trauma nurse with over a decade of trauma experience. Lindsay is married to a firefighter-medic and together they have 4 young children. As a subject matter expert and item writer for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), Lindsay is dedicated to advancing the profession of emergency and trauma nursing. Her most recent endeavor has been teaching TNCC, demonstrating her passion for trauma education and trauma patient care.
